DAY 1: CAPE TOWN – CAPE AGULHUS
Our beautiful coastal drive takes us past the hamlets of Kleinmond, Bettys Bay and Hermanus. We visit the Stony Point Penguin Colony on the way and will stop in Hermanus for whale watching in season. We visit the southern tip of Africa and overnight in charming Cape Agulhus. Shark Cage Diving, Whale Watching Cruises and wine tasting all optional on this day.
DAY 2: CAPE AGULHUS – BOTLIERSKOP PRIVATE GAME RESERVE
We drive for approximately 3.5 hours to arrive at Botlierskop Private Game Reserve in time for lunch, check in and our first game drive a bit later that day. Tonight we dine five star at the luxury lodge!
DAY 3: BOTLIERSKOP – PLETTENBERG BAY
We head down through the scenic Wilderness area and the jewels of the Garden Route, Knysna and Plettenberg Bay. Today we are faced with a myriad of options including the Garden of Eden, the Robberg Peninsula, a cruise on the Knysna lagoon. We will ensure you catch the view from the spectacular Knsyna Heads and visit the sweeping Plett Main Beach. Overnight in Plettenberg Bay.
DAY 4: PLETTENBERG BAY – TSITSIKAMMA
Bungy jumping? Monkeyland? Birds of Eden? Jukani big cat reserve? Africanyon? Stormsriver tubing? Hike the Robberg Peninsula? Hike to the waterfall in the national park? Wine tasting at Bramon? So many choices on the Garden Route for adventure and family friendly activities, or maybe just take it easy and visit the local market and go for a sumptuous lunch at Enricos. Tonight you have the option of a sea facing braai in the national park. Chat to your guide!
DAY 5: TSITSIKAMMA – PORT ELIZABETH
After a last morning enjoying the Garden Route, we head to Port Elizabeth to catch your flight, with a slight detour on the way to go see if we can spot some big wave action at legendary surfing mecca Jeffreys Bay.

Southern tip and safari option

DAY 1: PORT ELIZABETH- TSITSIKAMMA
Pick up at Port Elizabeth Airport/Shamwari Game Reserve. Drive down through Jeffreys Bay (famous for its magnificent surfing) towards the Tsittsikamma National Park. Our overnight at the Stormsriver mouth in one of the most beautiful coastal settings in South Africa is an experience you will never forget. There are several wonderful hikes to do in the park, with different levels of difficulty. Optional activities in the area include the Canopy Tour, kayaking, tubing down the Stormsriver and the forestry walk.
DAY 2: TSITSIKAMMA – PLETTENBERG BAY
We meander down to scenic Plettenberg Bay for our next overnight stay on the beach at Hunters Country House.  Depending on your preferences, today and tomorrow can be exhaustingly busy as there are options to stop off at Bloukrans bridge for the world’s highest bridge bungy jump (or maybe just watch others do it), the wonderful animal conservatories of Monkeyland, Birds of Eden, the Elephant Sanctuary and Jukani. For the hidden treasure seekers, a hike in Nature’s Valley to the undisturbed Sand River mouth is a winner. Or just take it slow and spend the afternoon walking on the Robberg Peninsula to watch the seals, go for a whale watching cruise (in season) or take a long walk on Plett’s main beach.
DAY 3: PLETTENBERG BAY, KNYSNA
With Plettenberg Bay as our base, we explore the area. This includes the Garden of Eden, the Knysna Heads, an optional eco-cruise with the Featherbed Experience on the Knysna Lagoon, visiting Myoli Beach in Sedgefield. Overnight Robberg Beach Lodge.  We suggest to stay two nights in Plett, but we also have wonderful overnight options in Knysna if you wanted to be in this slightly busier tourist gem. Our preferred location on the Knysna Waterfront is the Protea Knysna Quays, but if you wanted the best views in town Atlantic Guest House up on the hill is the winner.
DAY 4: PLETTENBERG BAY – OUDTSHOORN
We head down through the scenic Wilderness area before heading across the Outeniqua pass to the Klein Karoo and the historic town of Oudtshoorn. Here, you will experience the majestic Cango Caves, and overnight at a working Ostrich Farm. Your last night on the Garden Route will see you treated to some fantastic Afrikaner hospitality at De Denne guest house, as your hosts will prepare an Ostrich steak “braai” for you (a South African tradition!).
DAY 5: OUDTSHOORN – CAPE TOWN/STELLENBOSCH
Optional early morning start to do the Meerkat Walk. Our drive to Cape Town today is along the world’s longest wine route (Route 62). There are a number of wonderful wine estates to visit for tasting or lunch on the way back, the quirky towns of Ladismith, Barrydale and Montague. A drop in on iconic Ronnie’s Sex Shop (it’s not what you think), and a wonderful lunch to be enjoyed at Joubert Tradouw wine estate, the world’s best milkshake at Diesel ‘n Cream are among the highlights. In the late afternoon we will reach Cape Town or Stellenbosch in the winelands, depending on where you would like to end your tour. We also offer the option to arrange an overnight safari for you at wonderful Sanbona, which is about halfway back to Cape Town.
