Get the Point?
The day trip to Cape Point is probably the most popular full day excursion out of Cape Town – with good reason. My customized trip includes entrance to Cape Point, Chapmans Peak Drive, Hout Bay Harbour and the penguin colony at Boulders Beach. The views are spectacular, and it’s a mini-safari in itself.
Animals you might see on the route include Ostriches, Chacma Babboons, Penguins, Southern Right Whales, Cape Fur Seals, Antelope and a variety of bird species.
It’s a bit of a drive out to Cape Point, but the view off Chappies is my favourite and the hike to the Cape of Good Hope is also a highlight. There are so many cool things to do on the route it really merits a two day excursion, but you can cram quite a bit in in a day – we’ll have to make some choices though!
