“There’s a reason why people would get up at 5h30 in the morning to drive two hours to spend another three hours on a very rocky boat, then another two hours back to Cape Town. It’s because your 15 seconds of awesome will rock your world in a way you’ll never forget.”
EXTREMMMMEEE!!!
The Shark Cage Diving Trip is arguably the MUST DO activity in Cape Town. There are several different operators in the scenic town of Gansbaai, but I like to work with the folks from Marine Dynamics. This professional outfit does some sterling conservation work and are world renowned for their ecological initiatives. Check out their website on www.sharkwatchsouthafrica.com.
The trip itself leaves between 5am and 9am in the morning from Cape Town, and returns in the later afternoon/early evening. Your Shark encounter will, in this time, last between 15 seconds and 30 minutes, depending on how long you want to stay in the water…
Pricing starts at R1650 per person. I can do group discounts, if there are at least four of you I can do a 10% discount. For a group of four I can also do customized trips, maybe tasting some of the Hemel and Aarde valley wines on the way back and visiting the Penguin Colony and the waterfall in Bettys Bay.
